Welcome!
St Mary's church and Parish Centre St Mary's is a friendly church, committed to serving God and the communities of Burghfield and Burghfield Common.  Our vision is to be a community where all feel valued, accepted and nurtured as we seek to live the Good News of Jesus within our community and the wider world. This web site tells you something about who we are, what we do and how we worship - we hope you find these pages helpful and interesting.

Sunday 27th May: There will be just one service, at 10:00am, at which all our congregations will celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Everyone is welcome, and there will be young church and creche facilities. Please come and join us for one of year's major Christian festivals.

If you want to know more about us, please come along to worship with us on a Sunday, or any of our events (see the 'What's on' section above or check out the 'News' section) - we'd love to see you.  Or contact the Rector, Revd Gill for a chat.

Messy Jubilee - Saturday 26th May Print E-mail

Messy Birthday logoBarely fifty days since the last Messy Church afternoon and along comes another! Messy Jubilee (the Queen's, God bless her) is on Saturday 26th May and you can be assured of fun and crafts, singing and stories and food (what else? maybe a crown?).

All welcome - last time we only half filled the church(!) so there'll be plenty of space for Mums, Dads, Grannies and Granddads to bring the children. In the parish centre and St Mary's church Burghfield, we start at 3:30pm and eat tea around 5:00pm.

Map of BurghfieldAt the recent Annual Parish Church Meeting we discussed our draft plan for the next three years. So you can get an idea of our vision for St Marys up to 2015, the draft plan is now available for download.

We are using an approach to vision planning called MAP (Mission Action Planning) which is used in many Dioceses as a means to help grow healthy missional church communities. The document can be downloaded by clicking on the link below:

Open air worship

What a fantastically fun family day!

The sun shone and hundreds of you came down.

Starting with worship in the open (sunny and not wet) air. Gallons of tea and coffee served by a team from all the churches in Burghfield.
Coffee timeWe were blessed with fine weather, even though it was soft underfoot.

Thank you to our friends from Word Puppets who entertained the children (and the Rector) throughout the day.
