Welcome!
St Mary's church and Parish Centre

St Mary's is a friendly church, committed to serving God and the communities of Burghfield and Burghfield Common.  Our vision is to be a community where all feel valued, accepted and nurtured as we seek to live the Good News of Jesus within our community and the wider world. This web site tells you something about who we are, what we do and how we worship - we hope you find these pages helpful and interesting.

Message to visitors from the webmaster: I'm sorry that a technical glitch has caused us to lose the menu from the right hand side of this site. I'm trying to fix this as fast as I can, meanwhile my apologies for the inconvenience.

If you want to know more about us, please come along to worship with us on a Sunday, or any of our events (see the 'What's on' section above or check out the 'News' section) - we'd love to see you.  Or contact the vicar, Revd Gill for a chat.

Messy Baptism: Saturday 4th February Print E-mail

Messy Church logo
You might have put your Christmas decorations away on 6th January, but the Church celebrates Christmas all the way up to the start of February! Officially, the feast of Christmas ends with a celebration of the Baptism of Christ on 2nd February - 40 days after Christmas day.

Which is a long-winded way of making an excuse to have Messy Church on 4th February.  Hurrah!

So get yourself along to St Mary's, bring Mum and Dad for the usual fun, songs, stories and crafts, starting at 3:30pm and with tea around 5:00pm at Burghfield St Mary's Parish centre.

A Month in South Africa: 20th February Print E-mail

Revd Gill in Kimberley
During October 2011, Revd Gill Lovell swapped jobs to be a Vicar in a township in Kimberley, South Africa. Kimberley is right in the middle of southern Africa, on the edge of the Kalahari desert and part of the Anglican Diocese of Kimberley and Kuruman.

Since her visit, many have asked to hear more, so on Monday 20th February she will be talking about her experience of parish life, ministering in a very different part of the world. Fiind out more, at the Parish Centre, starting at 8:00pm, all welcome.

While in South Africa, Gill wrote a blog: you can read it by clicking here: revdgill.blogspot.com
